Raymetrics is the prime contractor for the design and construction of the EVE lidar. Anchored in Athens but with global reach and ambition, Raymetrics is a company founded by scientists and engineers that has developed a new and
innovative remote sensing technique. Raymetrics works with Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) technology using light from a laser to remotely sense distant objects, and in particular aerosols.
National Observatory of Athens
NOA, through the ReACT group, is has been the moving force behind the EVE lidar since its conception. It has outlined the scientific need for the development of the instrument lidar, has supported its development. ReACT is currently responsible for data analysis and scientific exploitation of the EVE instrument.
LMU, through its lidar development expertise, is supporting EVE development t. Specifically, Dr. Volker Freudenthaler is supporting EVE’s development by advising on lidar design, quality assurance, and depolarization measurement techniques.
